UN Ocean Decade endorsed
We treat oceans, rivers, and water bodies as living subjects of care, not just resources to manage. Protecting the water means protecting everything that depends on it.
We bring community voices, local knowledge, and Global South perspectives to partnerships. A different angle for organizations ready to go deeper than surface-level collaboration.
We support women, youth, and local entrepreneurs building livelihoods connected to water. Access, visibility, and support for those the system was not designed to include.
The Humboldt Current, the Amazon, and the communities that depend on them.
Kenya, Zambia, India, Colombia, the Caribbean, and counting.
Stories, education, and connections that cross every border.
Bluence was founded in 2025 with a simple but powerful conviction: the ocean connects us all. Not as a boundary, but as a shared space that unites communities, cultures, and futures across every border. If we looked at the world not as landmasses divided by water, but as an ocean that holds us together, we might act with greater collective purpose.
We are a hybrid organization: a consultancy working at the highest levels of ocean governance and policy, and a nonprofit working directly with communities. Based in Lima with representation in Washington D.C.
Our work brings together development practice and ocean passion. For over a decade, our team has supported women's economic empowerment, civic participation, and community-led change across Latin America and beyond. Bluence is where that experience found its focus.
