We treat the ocean, rivers, and water bodies not only as natural resources bu as living subjects of ethical care. We are committed to marine biodiversity, protecting both the water and the life within it.
Coastal, river, and mangrove communities; children, youth, and educators; sustainable entrepreneurs; and global allies such as networks, funders, and conscious collaborators.
Educational content, stories, and visual materials accessible across cultures and languages.
Marine pollution, coastal livelihoods, artisanal fishing, and civic participation, rooted in Peru.
River-based livelihoods, freshwater biodiversity, and ancestral knowledge.
Bluence was founded in 2025 with a simple but powerful conviction: the ocean connects us all. Not as a boundary, but as a shared space that unites communities, cultures, and futures across every border. If we looked at the world not as landmasses divided by water, but as an ocean that holds us together, we might act with greater collective purpose.
We are a hybrid social enterprise and nonprofit working at the intersection of ocean governance, blue economy, storytelling, and community development. Based in Lima with representation in Washington D.C., our active initiatives reach Peru, Colombia, India, Kenya, Zambia, the Caribbean, and beyond.
Our work brings together development practice and ocean passion. For over a decade, our team has supported women's economic empowerment, civic participation, and community-led change across Latin America and beyond. Bluence is where that experience found its focus.
